Saving Money Tips on Family Trip to France?
Hello, I’ve been to France before but only to Paris for 3 days at a time (been several times). I absolutely loved it. This time I’m planning to go next summer after my sister and I graduate with our Masters with family who’ve never been abroad before.
1) Wondering when is the best time to look/buy airfare tickets online?
2) Perhaps should I check with AAA or othe travel agents for a good deal? Ideally I’d like to stay the whole summer, but realistically 2 weeks in France/Europe.
3) How much money should we bring with us abroad besides 2 credit cards each? I calculated so far a day on food x 14 days length of vacation = 0 US dollars excluding fun excursions. Only 4 adults and the rest children in school so they’ll be able to get into venues free.
4) Don’t want to stay in hostels…never did so other than hotels would renting an apartment in France be too expensive for a family of 8? Have you ever staying in rented apartments abroad during your vacation?
Thank you & hope to hear from you all soon!
To me I didn’t feel as if France wasn’t as expensive as everyone recalls; then again I haven’t been back since the economy has been down. Clarifications, I was referring to a day per person in the regards to wanting to eat out when not cooking in the kitchenette. My fault for not being specific enough. My family and I have been saving in conjunction to what we’ll get with income tax come next year we think we can do it. If not…I’m still going on my own!
